HostGator have the greatest support team I ever worked with and their plans are very very good for their prices

I would not have left Host Gator if I wasn’t tight on money at the time.

Great support and 99.9% of the time I have not had any issues. I had a server problem one morning, but they had it reset in about a half hour. I called, but they were in the process of figuring it out. I wish they offered a little more reseller space…

They have rock solid LAMP servers. Even on a shared hosting plan, I have made the front page of Digg, Reddit, and Delicious all at the same time and not gone down. In a year I’ve had exactly two issues, both of which were resolved within a couple of hours.

I’ve been really happy with Hostgator, unlimited addon domains, unlimited mysqsl databases, cpanel with fantastico and fast support.

DO NOT USE HOSTGATOR!!!!! After 2 years they called and rudely told me to backup my server and they were closing my account in 24 hours. I was forced to upgrade to a dedicated server even though my traffic was at an all time low. I did just to keep my sites onlin eand it took them 4 days to move my sites. They were smart enuff to leave the semi-ded account on while they made the switch. It then took 2 weeks to get all the sites up and then they just couldnt handle me pointing out all the bugs and how stupid there supprt staff was and called and told me to leave after 2 years. Not good business.

They expanded to fast and hired idiots and the support has gone to crap. They offer unlimited sites knowing that no one will use all that they offer and then when you do they make you upgrade to semi and then dedicated like extortionists. Makes you wonder how they can pay 100.00 affiliate for a 10.00 signup.

Been with Hostgator for about 10 months now. 1 issue that was resolved with a server restart and I was back up in about 20 minutes total. Switching my second account from midphase to hostgator.

My site has been up for almost a year now. When I first started, it was my first website, so I already had a lot of questions to ask about actually getting it up and going. Luckily, the first few days were a breeze. They were speedy in finding a solution, and were not frustrated at my ignorance. All I had to do was click on a live chat button and I was in the immediate attention of a support personnel. After those initial hours of setting up, followed by a few days of studying online how to run a site, I never once needed support again. The site has not once failed me yet. Also, the control panel is such an easy tool to understand and use. Installing software to my site can be done from anywhere, with or without an FTP client. The host supports a multitude of languages, software, and other necessities demanded of a host in this era of the Internet. Very pleased.

They canceled my account for no reason and then they claimed that there was no such site hosted on HostGator! Assholes!

Great value At Hostagator but I had a problem with support

Server seems fast. I host a wordpress site, and everything has been good so far (about 6 months).

DON’T GO THERE. They put over 1000 sites on a server. If you dare go near your (PAID FOR) limits, they throw you on to a dedicated server and want you to pay for it. Read the other negatives here. They are very accurate.

I feel that Host Gator is one of the better hosting sites out there.
I have used them in the past and I feel that they are one of the stronger companies as far as customer service.

Great all around hosting service. Don’t go with a small fly-by-night operator, get something decent like these guys, but still at a great rate.

i tried host gator for about 1 week and ended up cancelling the account. customer service was hard to get ahold of and their interface didn’t have the installs that i needed.

Decent value host. They have most of the features that anyone would need, at a great price. If your traffic is large, you might consider a higher-priced host, though.

We have used Hostgator since 2003 and everything has always been stable. They take care of things pretty fast once the issue is sent to them via their support system. I have had both shared hosting accounts as well as a dedicated server. No Compliants.

They offer very good 24/7 support, which I have used many times and have always had prompt and informative responses. Their shared hosting plans are reasonable for most sites, and they offer excellent pricing!

I highly recommend their services whether your hosting your own sites, or if you plan to resell hosting packages yourself.

I am using Hostgator for past 2 years and I find no problem with them and their support staff are really superb with good uptime.. The features are normal as other hosts but the maintainence is really Cool!

I tried them temporarily just to test.. service was ok, but could not get ahold of support.

HostGator is actually a total nightmare. I have been with them for a month (I’m moving my websites as I type this) and I’m looking at 48 hrs of downtime and hostgator is trying to tell me this is not happening. Here’s how it goes.

I send a ticket because my website times out. I get a message back saying that its not down. I then call customer no-service where the first 2 people I talk to are always idiots and rude. I’m usually able to connect with someone after the 3rd call that actually believes that nobody can’t access my website. They type for about 10 minutes and then say they’ll have to send another ticket. I’m then sent an email by someone who likes to show how much they know by using the most confusing terms possible. I then have to send 3 or 4 more emails getting them to explain what the 1st email said.

Usually after this happens my website will work fine for a day or two, and then it all starts over.

If you use HostGator and don’t have any problems, you’re likely not checking your websites very often

I use both Lunar Pages and Hostgator and Hostgator has been very easy to work with and no real need to even try their support function yet.

No issues and no downtime so far after 3 months.

Support is poor and “Live Chat” is abysmal. Quite honestly I wouldn’t recommend this bunch if you were my worst enemy.

The number of stupid things that Hostgator have done to my sites is amazing. I agree with JT Media’s post above; If you haven’t had problems with this lot you can’t have been checking your sites very often.

I love the hostgator. I have had over 10 sites hosted on one account for almost ONE year without any issue. The prices are perfect for a mid-size domaineer and that’s the way I like it.

Hostgator has quite good support. You can contact them via online chat which is a good thing.

Feature rich cPanel and very fast and easy site setup. Pretty good value for our test sites, but I agree that you cant run a lot of traffic through these guys as you will get the DS letter. We move our bigger money sites to more robust hosts. Support does seem overwhelmed most of the time and we have had a couple of brief outages but nothing too serious.

Currently use them for all my sites. never had the need to use support. Generous with download and bandwidth limits.

I’m happy with hostgator so far. I been using godaddy (haha) and it’s easy to see that the hostgator servers are much stronger and faster.

I have been a longtime customer and have no complaints. Set it up and forget it.

I’ve been using hostgator for over a year and wouldnt switch if you offered me free hosting.

The best support around. The couple times i’ve had to email them my issue was resolved within a couple hours.

I just added Hostgator to my hosting pool because they support file access. I have several accounts that don’t and that hampers many of my efforts. So far they’ve been great to work with.

This is the best hosting i could choose! one caracteristic of HostGator is there excellent support! i have 5 blogs with WordPress installed in a Baby Plan and i never had problems! I recommend HG if you wanna have a blog with WordPress !

I have used hostgator for many of my sites. And i like its up-to-date Cpanel and Reseller WHM.

It is very easy to use and all features a host needs are already included in your hosting a/c.

Hostgator is the best. If ever I have a problem (which is rare) support is top-notch. I really like the fact that I can use online chat to talk to support. I can submit a ticket online and someone will respond with IM and fix the problem right then. Highly recommended.

Overall is good, but recently their support sucks. Their new support ticket system is a total nonsense.

Used hostgator for a year and no problems + their live support is absolutely superb….they helped me through many things.
But when my site were hacked they sent me to security that diagnosed and handled the problem very fast !

I’ve been with Hostgator for years and have no complaints. There was one time where I had issues and I couldn’t figure out what was going on. I contacted them through their support center and got my issue resolved very quickly. I’m a fan!

As long as you bear in mind that Host Gator are a budget host specialist and you don’t trust your mission critical websites on their servers then it’s possible to get great value for money.

Just don’t be too demanding or have too high expectations.

I run several sites on Host Gator and I can tell that this hosting is really cool.

hostgator is same like dreamhost, and other host that offer unlimited space but only want small website, or website that have big traffic but only using small memory/cpu resource

they all will kick you, even your website only have little traffic but using many memory/cpu resource

unlimited space/bandiwth just they tricks to get as many customer as they can
why you guys just not create small memory/cpu resource, like blog or medium forum, not file hosting or image hosting or video share using these host :p , guys like this you must using virtual or dedicated to make it, not shared

I have had a reseller account with Host Gator for several years now and I have been very satisfied with their service for the prices they charge.

When I have ever had need to contact their support team (I can only think of 2 occasions in 2 years) they were very helpful.

I’d have no problem recommending them.

I was going between lunarpages, midphase, and hostgator for my hosting services. i was thinking that it wasn’t good to keep all my sites with one hosting company (don’t keep everything in one basket).

in the end, i consolidated and hostgator was one of the sites i decided to keep for the majority of my sites and i haven’t had any issues with them at all. A++

I’ve used other web hosts before, so HostGator was a welcome sigh of relief. I’ve seen some reviews here where people have problems with them, I just cannot comprehend. I’ve never received nastygrams and I’ve always had some pretty darned good support, too. When I even think about my former host, who I’ll politely not mention, it makes me shudder.

I think one of the HostGator important point is that they really do the 24/7 support for their user, by anything, they can give you the best and the fast solutions when problems came. And their web online troubleshooting is also very helpful. Thank you HostGator.

I have been extremely pleased with HostGator’s web hosting service. They offer great support around the clock. I have had one negative issue in which was immediately resolved and to me I expect problems as no one is perfect but judge based on how the organization responds to such concerns. I really like Host Gator. Whenever I have a problem, they will give lightning fast support and usually slove it within a couple of hours, max.

It’s a decent host. But most of the time they put as many websites as possible in 1 server. Once I did a quick whois search and found out that one of my websites was sharing the server with 482 other websites.

I’ve been a VERY satisfied customer of hostgator for more than a year.

I was concerned at first, with the childish cartoon logo and fractured services (completely different sites for customer service, domain registration, billing, etc). Their pay-per-month option is what got me to sign up since it was a temporary side project and I didn’t want a year commitment.

I’m now running 3 sites with HostGator perfectly – very reliable, no issues. One small billing problem a while back, but resolved quickly with a 2 minute chat session.

i have been overcharged with 60$ and no refund received even after 6 months sice i reported. I just gave up and cancelled my account with them and i transfered 22 domains to different hosting company.

I think hostgator stand out for their excellent support. Whenever I have had a problem they have sorted out quickly. I wish my other contacts were like that!
