I have had a great experience with Lunarpages over the course of several years. I maintain about a half-dozen sites there and have directed at least that many other developers to Lunarpages.

I have just started with them recently but everything has been fine so far. Support has been excellent on the couple of small problems I have had to date.

I just wish they would add Joomla, Wordpress and some more choices in the galleries on Fantastico.

Lunar Pages is a great host, quick to respond to support requests, decent server performance, and a great value for hosting multiple domains on the same account. I might have misunderstood the previous post, but Joomla and Wordpress are both available for install using Fantastico, as well as several galleries.

Lunarpages does not security the databases. They have their customers SQL databases outsite the firewall. I received an error message when my SQL server would not work that gave me the administrator username and password. They gave me access to all the users SQL databases, usernames, passwords, customer data etc. I notified Lunar on March 9th, 2007 and sent them 56 pages of screens shots of all the user database, usernames etc. As of March 14th 2007, I still have access to all their customer databases and user information. I would not recommended anyone using their services if they are worried about their data.

on the whole, lunarpages has been fine for me. but that is considering the fact that I dont run any critical apps on their servers. if i needed dedicated hosting, i would go for rackspace or theplanet. i had a support issue also once with them…

ohh and recently they seem to be doing a lot of maintainence also..one of my sites was unavail for a couple of days when they were ‘moving servers’..

They recently started stealing 404 pages. They put up a search page as a 404 error, with your domain name displayed, and a search box that says it will search your site but really returns sponsored ads. So I guess it’s not a problem if you NEVER have broken links..

They started off fine, and then it went downhill quickly. I’d recommend staying away from them!

I’ve had my page hosted with Lunar Pages for over a year now and have not had any problems. I’ve had some basic technical questions (since I was learning as I went along building my site), and support was great over the phone and through email. Lots of great features are available on the Control Panel makes most maintenance and changes easy, even for those who are not experienced at the technical side of things.

I’ve got over 25 of my clients on lunarpages and they both use plesk and cpanel, depending on the server setup. Its been a pleasure working with lunarpages and am looking forward to many years of business with them!

I’ve been with LP for over 3 years, it had many ups and downs but I was just lazy to change over, so I remained with them… but I had many problems with PHP includes going down, email issues, and support was never fast enough.

Last weekend my websites went off for TWO DAYS!

Definitely changing over this time.

If you want a cheap way to host several websites, they are good… but if you want reliability, see another company.

I used Lunarpages UNTIL they started to rebill me for a hosting account I tried to cancel. Their hosting service is good their CUSTOMER SERVICE blows.

Mr Vladimir himself once said : “We are sorry for the inconvinience”, and then shut down a website. The website owner can’t afford a dedicated server.”You have to buy it !” said Mr Vladimer. Lunarpages does not care for the poor.

7. Advice to avoid server loads
The shared hosting offered by Lunarpages is realy a blast !
If you are a former Lunarpages client, you might have noticed that their servers are always loaded. Nerly 99% offline time is garanteed by Lunarpages due to server loads. Please keep your files to the minimum. You need to be careful not to upload JPG images, instead you are adviced to convert to GIF !

8. A broke webmaster once said : “Be aware of Lunarpages, No matter how many times they ask, do not ever provide the last 4 digits of your credit card !”
Not very fiew incedents indicates that providing your sensitive data to Lunarpages can have desastrous consiquences on your safety. The responsible staff of accounting are from India and Romania. The webmaster mentioned did provide some extra info too, but data must be protected on Lunarpages.

9. A deseased webmaster last words to his sun: “My sun! the world of webhosting is full of Lunar Pages…they are everywhere”. They are spamming Google-search with hundreds of fake client-reviews websites full of honey talk about their privelages. They pay a lot of our money to hide their truth.

Lunarpages do simpathy with people having deadly illnesses. They have their own free helth care program. They even offer : “A Domain For After Life !”. After they pass away they can still maintain their rights.

I bought this shared hosting plan a fiew weaks ago from Lunarpages,,, I installed Joomla CMS and started to post articles. I noticed that someone else is browsing the website too what made me feel strange because it is not even published to search engines and nobody knows about it .. Afetr I finished my design I went to bed happy. I woke up the next morning to find that the Joomla template is corrupt. Contacting Lunarpages support -from my long experience with this company- is a wast of time so I desided to change hoting. I contacted Lunarpages asking a quick refund and cancellation of my account. They use to guarantee “30 days money back” and it was the third weak then, they kept ignoring my messages for another week until they reply finaly came : “We are sorry but you no longer elligable for the pay back !”. You can never understand the way they cross you.
Lunarpages is a double stantard company. And the funny thing is “keep billing them and get suspended,,,ask money back and keep host !!!”
