Netfirms was once a popular free hosting service, but turned paid several years ago. They’ve remained committed to serving novice website owners with low cost plans and built-in features such as blog and photo gallery installers.

I’ve been extremely disappointed with Netfirms as a host. My biggest problem is with server performance, with my site(s) suffering from timeouts and unavailability. Support was of little help when I contacted them, so I moved my accounts to a different host, despite being paid through the year with netfirms.
Also, the interface for managing accounts isn’t the normal C-Panel/Fantastico combination, but rather some lackluster homegrown interface with very limited options.

For more than 5 years now, I’m satisfied customer. Always when I needed it I had a very quick email support. For such low-cost prices Netfirms is really a very good hosting company…

i have not had any major problems with them. But you will need to know how to install your own scripts . There auto install scripts are a tad old. I’m glad I found them.

Netfirms are pretty good, the url http://www.netfirms.com/max can give you 2 domains and a years hosting for US$20, which is absolutely excellent.
I’ve had no problems with them, however contacting support over weekends can lead to significant delays, but when they reply they are helpful.

Netfirms are great for domains registration. Cheap and includes WHOIS privacy. Their dashboard is good.
On the con side they are expensive for hosting and you need to purchase their top hosting package to get basic features that most hosts include. Also if you register a domain you only get 1 email address and its webmail only – no POP3 email unless you also purchase hosting.
Get your domains here and get your hosting elsewhere.
